Job Description
The Woodford County Farm Bureau is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Education and Program Coordinator. This role is vital to supporting our mission of promoting agriculture through education, outreach, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will develop, coordinate, and execute agricultural literacy programs and events for schools, members, and the community.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Pay range is $15-17.00/hour. Average hours are 15-20 hours per week.

- Educational Outreach: Develop and deliver agriculture-focused lessons for classrooms and community groups, ensuring alignment with state educational standards.
- Program Development: Create and implement innovative programs such as "Ag in the Classroom" and seasonal initiatives like "Lesson in a Bucket."
- Event Coordination: Plan and manage events, including workshops, farm tours, and community engagement activities.
- Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to assist with programs and events.
- Resource Management: Maintain and distribute educational materials, including Illinois Ag Mags, activity kits, and other resources.
- Communication: Promote programs and events through newsletters, social media, and other channels. Build relationships with schools, educators, and community organizations.
- Administrative Duties: Track program metrics, prepare reports, and assist with budget management.
Qualifications
- Experience with volunteer organization; planning, coordination, and leading meetings
- Background/experience in agriculture and understanding of agricultural issues.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to organize efficiently, establish priorities and attend to details.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular travel throughout Woodford County.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
